Wedding Cake Consultations: What to Expect

Planning your wedding cake should be one of the most creative and enjoyable parts of your wedding journey. Whether you’re dreaming of a romantic floral wedding cake or a show-stopping bespoke design, the consultation process is relaxed, collaborative, and deeply personal. Together, we’ll craft a cake that’s not just what you envisioned—but even better than you imagined.

When to Get in Touch

As soon as you’ve set your wedding date and feel drawn to my signature cake design style, I recommend reaching out to check my availability. I only take on two wedding cakes per week, so my diary fills up quickly—early enquiries are always best.

When contacting me, please include the following details to help me provide an initial quote:

   •    Your wedding date

   •    Your venue (this gives me insight into your wedding style)

   •    The number of guests you’d like to serve

   •    Your budget

   •    Any examples of my previous cakes that inspire you (please note: I do not replicate other cake designers’ work)

Booking Your Wedding Cake

Once we’ve confirmed availability, a £100 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date.

Next, we’ll schedule your wedding cake consultation, either in person or via Zoom. I recommend doing this around six months before your wedding, as by then, your overall theme, flowers, and styling choices will be more defined. These elements often influence your cake design.

Tasting Your Cake Flavours

I offer cake tasting sample boxes twice a month during autumn and winter. You can easily order yours through my website. The cost of one box is redeemable against your booking—a sweet way to sample flavours and help you make your final choices.

Designing Your Bespoke Wedding Cake

During the consultation, we’ll explore your ideas, your wedding theme, your venue styling, and your overall vibe. I’ll take time to understand what the cake means to you—so that the final design not only reflects your vision but enhances your entire celebration.

After our meeting, I’ll send through a detailed design proposal and quote. We’ll refine the design together over the following week until it feels just right.

Final Steps Before Your Big Day

One month before your wedding, I’ll ask you to confirm your final flavour choices. You’ll receive your final invoice four weeks prior to the event.

If your cake includes handmade sugar flowers, I’ll have already coordinated with your florist to ensure colour accuracy and begin crafting them well in advance.

One week before the wedding, I’ll confirm delivery and setup timings directly with your venue, so everything runs smoothly.

On Your Wedding Day

Relax and enjoy every moment. Your cake will be delivered and beautifully set up well before your arrival, allowing you to focus on your celebration—and of course, enjoying your delicious cake.

Availability

As I only take on two weddings per week It is never too early to enquire about availability for you wedding date.
